A start on information relating to raids on Liverpool.
29 Sep 1940 - single aircraft attacking Liverpool and Birkenhead. No information regarding units. (all from the Blitz Then and Now V2 unless otherwise stated)
1 Oct 1940 - Attack, again by one aircraft, Birkenhead at 1937. A shelter hit and bombs dropped near the entrance to the mersey Tunnel, near Cammel Lairds, No 3 Graving Dock. 6 dead, 56 injured.
4 Oct 1940 - sorties in the direction of Liverpool between 1000 and 1100 - no bombing took place.
11 Oct 1940 - between 1900 and 2100 some minor attacks on Liverpool.
14 Oct 1940 - between 1900 and 2100 isolated raids in the direction of Liverpool.
16 Oct 1940 - daylight - isolated sorties to Liverpool (possible recce activity?). Bombs dropped in Liverpool area between 2000 and 2130.
17 Oct 1940 - after 1925 some raids towards Liverpool.
18 Oct 1940 - 1900-2100 sorties to Liverpool.
19 Oct 1940 - Merseyside, southern districts - mainly housing attacked.
21 Oct 1940 - bombs dropped by single aircraft between 0700 and 1100 hrs. 1900 to 2100 hrs a few raids in the Liverpool area.
22 Oct 1940 - 1830-2100 few raids penetrated to Liverpool. 2100-2300 three raids visited Liverpool
24 Oct 1940 - 2330 single aircraft plotted from Yorkshire coast to Liverpool bay.
