I'm looking for any information about this UFFZ, Herbert Banz! If anyone may have any info about his awards/decorations please reply. Also, was he a survivor of WWII, and if so whereabout is he located to contact him. Thanks!

I found out that Herbert Banz was part of 3(F)122 and he took part in his Squadron's 1000th mission. A while back, I came across his Goblet awarded for outstanding achievements in the airwar, which I though was pretty cool! I would appreciate any other information about him if possible.

Andy, the file for "Luftwaffe Wiki Downloads" seems to be in a format that my computer does not recognize. I believe Windows Access access is the only program that can open it, and what do you know, I don't have it. Is there any other format this can be open with?

Thanks again Mr. Mitchell!

Uffz. Herbert Banz was awarded the "Ehrenpokal" on the 20.07.42! He was not a pilot but a "Bordschütze" airgunner!

Gary,

The file can be opened using Open Office which is free and can be found at http://www.openoffice.org.

You will need to open the database file with the "Base" application which is openoffices equivalent of Access.

Writer is the equivalent of Word
Calc is the spreadsheet
and Impress the presentation application.

I use OpenOffice all the time now making sure that I take the updates as offered.
