Hi

This Ju 52/3m from eBay http://www.ebay.de/itm/Foto-Ju-52-Militar-Flugzeug-Flug-Afrika-2-WK-/230689994560?pt=Militaria&hash=item35b631f740 has the tactical tail code of 3./KGr.zbV 800 (later TG 2). The seller states Africa as the location, which would date the photo to between August 1942 and early 1943. There appears to be an emblem with a tail, but I cannot find an emblem for this unit. Has this emblem been seen before?

regards

Ian

Ian,

It looks vaguely like the "Salamander" attributed to KGzbV 1 by Meyer and Stipdonk p241 of Von der Fliegerschule zum Einsatzverband.

Although the same Salamander emblem is attributed to KG zbV 2 in Sep 1939 - Nowarra, Aircraft and Legend Ju 52, page 68.

Cannot find anything similar in my Ju 52 photos.
