my uncle's name was Heinz Krempel. He was crew member of a Ju 88D-1trop shot down on Feb 14th 1943.

The only information his family got was: "Heinz Krempel was missing in action". Later on, my mother received a letter from the German Red Cross in 1981 or 1982, saying, that Heinz was declared as dead.
Is there someone around, who knows more about him and his time in the Luftwaffe or can say something about the crew he flew with.
Would be great if there are some other photographies about him available.

I did not believe that I had anything other than the information contained on the Feb 1943 page of the diary.

However, I have found something else including another photo of your uncle - here it is



This comes from the Duetsches Rotes Kreuz - Suchdienst München Vermisstenbildliste for 1(F)./122 that was passed to me some while ago.

I also have a photo of another crew member



this is from the same source as is the following which unfortunately does not contain a photo



The fourth crew member Stfw. Theodor Schäfer (B) is not mentioned on the pages that I have (I also checked the pages for 2 through 5 Staffel just in case.

Since my grandmother received the message, that Heinz was MIA, we never got any detailed information about what happened on the 14.02.1943. But last year I found the record on "luftwaffedata" and now I'm in contact with Vince Ashworth, the brother of Flying Officer Corran Perry Ashworth, who shot down the JU 88. Vince wrote a book about his brother and within this book he describes the story of the shooting down.
