Hey Andy, Any luck on this, Sure is an ungainly looking bird? Just wondering if you have had any luck, I have no clue.

Hello,

It's one of the nine "militarized" Potez P-620/621 of the French airlines company "Air France".

Jicéhem,

Many thanks for looking at this.

So now we know - I tried to Google the 620 and the 621 but unfortunately found nothing.

Do you know anything about their service?

Also you are the first to post (other than myself) since the upgrade - you have proved that it works!!!

Dear Wekusta

This is a Potez 621 recognisable by having being re-engined with a Hispano Suiza engine instead of the basic Gnome Rhone version powering the model 62/620. In all 14 were built or re-engined as this model. Since it is both camouflaged and retaining its Air France symbol it is as Jicehem states one of those requisitioned by Adl'A when war began to augment its Potez 65 transport fleet. Of those nine mentioned only three were model 621, c/n 4210/18 F-AOTY, 4258/21 F-APOC, 4259/22 F-APOD. A slight mystery concerns c/n 4207/15 F-AOTU which was requisitioned as a model 620, but which is known to have been converted to model 621 in 1937, so maybe there were FOUR model 621 among the nine "taken" 1.9.1939. However more model 621 were taken after the armistice with Germany and we cannot totally rule out it could be one of those, but for various reasons I am pretty convinced the photo is one of those three (or four...) model 621 listed above.

Cheers
Stig
