Hello all,

I'm compiling information on museums with Axis WW2 equipment on my site, the Axis History Factbook, and I'd appreciate any help with additions (text or photos) or corrections to the material.

The museums section can be found at http://www.axishistory.com/index.php?id=56

(I hope it is ok to post it here)

Thanks.

/Marcus

Hi Marcus,

The AWM also has Japanese midget submarines that were sunk off Sydney Harbour (from memory) and they do have a rather large collection of tanks and artillery (though, the former may only be Allied, but there is at least one 88mm flak battery) at the Treloar centre.

Hope this helps

Adam

Hi Marcus,

The Aerospace Museum at RAF Cosford has an excellent collection of Luftwaffe a/c and missiles, including Me 410, Me 262, Me 163, Fi 156, Fritz X, Hagelkorn, Rheintochter etc. In fact the missile/glide bomb collection is very impressive.

Best Regards

Andy (F)

Marcus,

Have just returned from a holiday in Suffolk, during that holiday I visited the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum at Flixton (see http://www.aviationmuseum.net/).

They have the remains from a number of excavations of Luftwaffe Ju 88 and Do 217 crash sites on display in the main hanger. (Also on display are the remains of two V2 propulsion units.)

can I say that this museum is well worth a visit just to see the aircraft on display in the hangers and outside.

I have some photos which I will post shortly.
