All too many do forgot the sacrifices made.

The ceremony at the Cenotaph always makes me quite emotional.

being a history teacher, historian and working in a school with a cadet corps always rubs me the wrong way on days like Armistice....too many forget too much about the sacrifices of the few AND too many who should know better categorise those sacrifices for political and/or personal ends.

Every death is a tragedy. Regardless of uniform. For without evil, good and righteousness would have no meaning.

Adam,

Thanks for these thoughts.

Remembrance Sunday is always the time when the servicemen are thought about but I wonder when does the "nation" think about the civilian deaths that have also happened as a consequence of war....

I think that it is always vitally and morally important to remember the sacrifice of the fighting men and women and the countless civilians who have been killed, wounded and seperated from their families as a result of armed conflict.

This year I shall be at the open air service of rememberance in Guernsey in the Channel Islands.

Regardsd Richard.
