I am trying to ascertain the identity of the Hauptmann who held the position of Staka 1.(F)/Aufklärungsgruppe 123 during May-1944.

Could it be Hauptmann Helmut Wippersteg?

According to an Offizier Stellenbesetzung that I have this Hauptmann was Staka until May 1944.

Thank you for that, I raised the question is due to several signed entries in a Wehrpass to a Beobachter in 1.(F)/123 who was listed as missing in the first week of May-1944, and was looking for verification of Hauptmann Helmut Wippersteg holding that post in this time.

I understand Hauptmann Helmut Wippersteg was in fact KIA a short time later on 23-May-1944.

One of my long outstanding tasks is to build a Personnel listing for 123 along the same lines as the one that I have for 122.

Andy, I will be in touch soon reference the Wehrpass in question (when it eventually arrives through the post!) and pass the details on to you for the Personnel listing for (F)/123. By the way he also flew with 2.(F)/122 prior to that.

Yes, I have downloaded a copy of the Career Summaries and have made a start comparing them to my off-line 122 Personnel lists. I have a lot of updating to do in this area from losses and have found a few officers that Larry and Doug have but who as yet do not figure in my lists.
